    In recent years, with the continuous development of society, computer technology and electronic technology have also become increasingly prosperous. We have briefly introduced the cable fault identification device in previous articles, so we will not elaborate on it here. Today, the editor will continue to follow the relevant knowledge of cable fault testers. Interested friends should not miss it.

    In recent years, with the development of electronic and computer technology, the functions of cable fault testers have become more diverse, and their reliability and lifespan have also been improved to a certain extent. And today, its development has presented new highlights.

    1、 The addition of new intelligent modules in cable fault testing: new sensors such as fiber optic sensors, polymer sensors, and biosensors continue to emerge and will experience rapid development.

    2、 The emergence of a new fieldbus structure for cable fault testing: expanding the self diagnostic function of cable fault testing instruments and facilitating maintenance. The connection of cable testing systems is more reliable and convenient, resulting in significantly reduced installation costs and variable control scales.

    3、 Integrated functionality of electronic cable testing system: more closely integrated with computers, power electronic devices, and strong current control, using both continuous and intermittent control.

    The cable fault tester is a comprehensive facility. Used for testing open circuit, short circuit, grounding, low resistance, high resistance flashover, and high resistance leakage faults in power cables, as well as very accurate testing of open circuit and short circuit faults in coaxial communication cables and local telephone cables. It can also test the cable route, burial depth, and radio speed measurement, verify and approve the cable length, and establish cable files for regular protection and management.

    The method of troubleshooting cable fault tester:

    1. To conduct a cable insulation resistance test, a full-length test should be conducted on the faulty cable, and the waveform of the test should be basically the same for multiple times or more.

    2. Insulation resistance data analysis, if the customer's on-site information is unclear about the joint location, it can only be used as a reference for future testing.

    3. Determine the range and location of the fault point, and use the high-voltage flash method for testing. After completing the pulse method test, use the flash method for testing. Based on the insulation condition of the fault, first use the A-phase with lower insulation resistance for testing, with a capacitor of 2 microns at 20kV and an impulse voltage of 15kV.

    4. The high-voltage flash test waveform is the secondary breakdown discharge waveform of the fault point, and the breakdown discharge waveform. Then, according to the waveform test using the flashing method, although the fault point is difficult to break down and discharge, the secondary breakdown waveform can determine the fault distance, even if the rough measurement is completed.

    5. The following is the precise location of the fault point. The testing site, within the rough distance range, happens to be a coal yard, and the fixed-point testing environment is relatively poor. The fixed-point can only be carried out on the coal pile. Through careful work, the fault point was determined on the rocky pile using an acoustic magnetic synchronous fixed-point instrument.

    6. The voltage withstand test of the cable shall be conducted using series resonance on the repaired cable, and the voltage withstand time shall not be less than one hour. Smoking, exhalation, burning odor, flashing arc discharge sound, etc. occurring within the specified time all indicate insulation defects. If there is no abnormal phase during the boosting process, it indicates that the voltage resistance performance is good and can be put into normal use.
