Compare the advantages and disadvantages of oil immersed test transformers and dry-type test transformers
1. The cost is different
For transformers of the same capacity, the purchase price of dry-type transformers is much higher than that of oil type transformers.
2. Different lead forms
Dry type transformers mostly use silicone rubber bushings, while oil type transformers mostly use porcelain bushings
3. Different capacities and voltages
Dry type transformers are generally suitable for power distribution, with capacities mostly below 1600KVA and voltages below 10KV, with a few reaching a voltage level of 35KV; However, oil transformer supplier can achieve full capacity from small to large, and voltage levels can also achieve all voltages.
4. Insulation and heat dissipation are different
Dry type transformers are generally insulated with resin and cooled by natural air cooling. Large capacity transformers are cooled by fans, while oil type transformer manufactures are insulated by insulating oil. The circulation of insulating oil inside the transformer transfers the heat generated by the coil to the radiator (plate) of the transformer for heat dissipation.
5. Applicable places
Dry type transformers are mostly used in places that require "fire and explosion prevention", and are generally easy to use in large and high-rise buildings. Oil type transformer manufactures, on the other hand, are mostly used outdoors and in places where "accident oil pools" are excavated due to the possibility of oil spraying or leaking after "accidents", causing fires.
6. Different ability to withstand loads
Generally, dry-type transformers should operate at their rated capacity, while oil type transformers have better overload capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is an oil-immersed test transformer used for?
Oil immersed test transformers are mainly used to provide AC high voltage for power equipment such as transformers, cables, switchgear, insulators, circuit breakers, and transformers, and to conduct power frequency withstand voltage tests.
2. Is operation complicated?
No. When used with a control console or automatic control system, the operation is simple. Even first-time users can quickly master the testing procedure after basic training.
